Company History

Kennedy’s Grading and Excavation Inc. started in 1981 by Gary Kennedy who has been in the construction trade since 1968. Today, the company is still family owned and operated by Lee Kennedy, his wife Brittani, and son Garrett. Our company’s success has been built on personalized service, repeat business and satisfied client referrals.

1968

 

Gary Kennedy began working in the construction trade. He worked on large projects in Atlanta including the Coca-Cola Building, the IBM towers and the Federal Building.

1981

 

Kennedy’s Grading and Excavation Inc. was started. Our first grading and excavation projects included: Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the sports fields at Georgia Tech, later moving onto Nano Tech & multiple data centers across the country.

2014

 

Kennedy’s Grading and Excavation Inc. continues to expand and is operating in 4 states.  Oklahoma, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. We are a second generation family owned and operated business. From small home owner project to large industrial projects & commercial sites, we have the ability to furnish highly trained operators with heavy equipment to meet your needs.

2015

 

Kennedy’s Grading and Excavation Inc. moved their operations to Moncks Corner, South Carolina located in Berkley County. Our new location serves the tri-state area and includes a stocked material yard.

2019

 

New ownership by Lee Kennedy, Garys son, and who has been in the trade since 2000. Currently Kennedy’s Grading and Excavation, INC is operating on several large projects, including MUSC and Data Centers located in the Charleston area. As well as smaller projects suchs as pools, driveways, and light pole installations. The material yard is growing significantly, serving the Low Country to home owners and contractors alike.
